Shin Goketsuji Ichizoku: Bonnou Kaihou (新・豪血寺一族 煩悩解放) is the sixth installment in the series and serves as something of a sequel to Matrimelee, although like Power Instinct Legends, it's also not a proper sequel to the main series, and could be said to be a port or an "update" of Matrimelee. Unlike the other sequels in the series, Bonnou Kaihou is the first one to be made exclusively for a console. It was created for and released on the Playstation 2 by Noise Factory and Excite on May 25, 2006. Those who pre-ordered the game received a bonus CD which contained full chorus arranged versions of a few of the songs and a digital calendar.

Like Groove On Fight, it has not gotten a release outside of Japan.

Gameplay Features[]

Bonnou Kaihou is generally much like it's predecessor, although there are some changes. It features enhanced graphics and sound, the return of Angela Belti and Kinta Kokuin, a new boss, and the return of the transformation feature. Gameplay was also improved in some areas, and the input for a number of special moves and super attacks were simplified to make it easier to handle the game. Of note is that the Rage of the Dragons characters were not carried over from Matrimelee.

The Stress meter is no longer featured, instead operating like that of a regular Super Meter found in other fighting games, though it retains the same 3-level limit, and characters still get a Stress Flame when the bar raises up a level.

The game also features an online mode and a 'Lust Cards System' that consists of buying cards with special effects. Some allow the player to change certain characteristics of the characters, others are used to view special music video clips, and others to call strange characters to help the player in battle.

Story[]

Princess Sissy was sad. She just couldn't forget the excitement of the Matrimelee tournament. The King, worried about the emotional state of his daughter (Who is usually joyful and vigorous) invited the world's strongest fighters to his country to convince them to enter to a new tournament, the "Bonnou Kaihou" tournament.

This time the prize is anything that the winner could wish for (Except the throne succession). When the King told Sissy about the Bonnou Kaihou tournament, her characteristic smile returned to her face, finally she will once again have that feeling that is present only in battle.
