Tanaka Toshikazu (田中敬一) is a video game music composer and one of the main persons in the the development of the Goketsuji Ichizoku series.
About Toshikazu[]
Sometimes credited as Dencyu or Tarkun, he begun his career as composer around 1986 in SNK and then Atlus; by the spring of year 2000 worked independently for several companies. Later he established his own company "Studio Aqua".
One of his most popular works is the theme "Soy Sauce" used as music for the character Geese Howard from the Fatal Fury series.
When he transferred to Atlus he was put in charge of the sound development for the Goketsuji Ichizoku series. His work comes from composing the BGM, creating the sound effects and even voice acting.
During the time of the development of Power Instinct Matrimelee, in an interview published on the game's Official website, he stated that the Goketsuji Ichizoku series were so different from other fighting games that he focused on making the music for the series have a very different feel compared to other fighting game soundtracks at the time.
When Shin Goketsuji Ichizoku: Bonnou no Kaihou was released, the special music video for the song Let's Go! Onmyoji , had an unexpected success, ranking firts place in the most viewed videos in nico nico douga and Toshikazu made a live presentation performing the song along with Momoeika in the concert "Animelo Summer Live".
Although he has voiced characters since the first Power Instinct game, his roles are not often specified; the only characters that have been revealed to be voiced by him are: Hikomaro Yabeno, The Bozu Dancers, Sadakichi and his friends from the pentaguin planet(voice altered).
Boy Band[]
When Toshikazu was on his twenties he formed a music band music band with two friend from his highschool days, the name of the msic band was Radish(ラディッシュ), at that time, he was already working as game music creatro in the videogame industry, but managed to be active in the music band, performing every week at a live house called Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club and making self-produced demo tapes.
At that time, there was an unprecedented band boom, and there were various contests. There was even a TV show about for amateur music bands called Ikaten(イカ天) in the Kanto region. While Toshikazu didn't apply for that show, cause he lived in Osaka, there was a version of Ikaten for the Kanto region called "Live King"(ライブキング) and Toshikazu auditioned for it. In the show, three band per week will play for and audience of 100 people whom decided which band got point to be approbed. Toshikazu's band was defeted in the firts week, the main vocalist of the band(Masanosuke Fujiwara) was really affected and lost his motivation, after that the band broke up.
